I may not have scrapped for over 2 weeks now. I am in a funk and can’t seem to find my mojo. But I am taking part in a photo challenge on a scrapbooking forum. Having a blast learning my camera. I don’t have a great one just a Fujifilm S700 but I am enjoying playing. Check out my first two slide shows on my video page.
Caroline at this blog is giving away some of her winnings that she got at CHA.
She attended CHA and was very fortunate to win tons of MM stuff and the Slice as well as a new Fiskars trimmer. She is thrilled and also wants to share with anyone who mentions her on their blog. Carolyn, I hope you love your Slice and all your yummy stuff from CHA.
I don’t normally write much personal on here but I am flying over the moon right now. You may beware from comments on my layouts that I have a daughter and family living in Australia. Well, I just talked to her tonight and I can’t get over this. Her hubby definitely has a transfer to Houston Texas for 2 years but is trying to get a job in Vancouver with the same company. I am so excited it is unbelievable. This could mean them moving to either place before Christmas. I can hardly wait as this may be manageable for me to get to go to see them. Will have to wait a few days before finding out whether or not they will be in Canada or the USA. Either way, I love to go to both places. WOOHOO!!!!!!!
I just got my first spellbinder die and decided to google my computer for using it with my cuttlebug. I found some neat Utube demos and read a couple of articles and I found this new information at this blogging site by Elle Hutson. See here. I really found the use of spellbinder dies and cuttlebug machines very informative on her site. I never knew that you could emboss using your spellbinder dies. However, since I did not have the Spellbinder magnetic mat or their tan emboss mat, I found of different ways to emboss my dies. More explanations for use of spellbinders on cuttlebug here
I tried two methods and they both worked very well. I took the rubber backings that came with my Unique Boutique stamps. So I used A plate, B Plate, 2 rubber mats, card, spellbinder die facing down and then B to get an embossed edge. The unfortunate part is that these rubber mats are small. So I had an old mouse pad here and cut it the size of the plates for the cuttlebug and instead of using 2 rubber mats, I only used this alone and it worked with amazing results.
i already knew the combination for the quickutz dies on my cuttlebug which is A, B, Cardstock, die, and C.
I am off to play some more and will show some after I have finished.
- My nephew looks very unimpressed. He broke his arm just a few days before school was finished. He had plans for the summer to golf, play ball, cruise on his bike and other assorted physical activities. Looks like he won’t be golfing or playing ball in the near future. I feel so bad for him as he is very much an active child.
This is how it starts. I bought a drawer unit on a whim. Yikes….I didn’t realize it was going to come in a zagillion pieces. Thank goodness for a friend helping me out with a power drill……..made the job so much easier. Then I tidied my scraproom and you sure won’t see it this way too often……..lol.
Notice how nice the unit looks in my room. I still haven’t got it all organized yet.
So good to have my computer handy. And next is my hidden storage in the closet. This is just one half on it. Notice my method of using shower hooks and safety pins to hang embellishments from the clothes rod.
I am lucky to have a regular paper rack for my patterned paper. I also have a wired book rack in there that holds my photo boxes and other containers with embellishments in there. You can catch a glimpse of my sewing machine to the right. Just to get it fixed so I can use it again.
